Drowning at Outer Banks in Southern Shores

A drowning at Outer Banks occurred last week. A 38 year old man from New York drowns while on a family vacation at the Outer Banks on Friday October 3, 2014 at  Southern Shores. The man from Binghamton, New York was pulled from the ocean and brought to shore where CPR was performed. Reports are that the man was struggling in the water about 150 yards from the beach. When rescued and brought onto the beach he was unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead. Reports are he may have been caught in a rip current. His name was Nathan E. Kruser and he was 38 years old. He was swimming with his brother when he got into trouble in the ocean. Mr. Kruser along with his family were on vacation at the Outer Banks in the northern village of Southern Shores.
