With only one turtle nest left to hatch any day now Cape Point may open this week. The turtle nest is expected to hatch any day now and 2 days after that is when the Park Service excavate the nest. Afterwards Cape Point should be opened to 4 wheel drive access. Will update as soon as The Point opens in Buxton on Hatteras island. Cape Point is known world-wide for great fishing due to the currents that meet causing rough surf. Red Drum and spanish mackrel fishing is popular at Cape Point at the Outer Banks.
